Legal Counsel

As Legal Counsel, reporting into the Head of Legal Egypt, you will partner with the legal function and collaborate with leaders across Compliance, HR, Regulatory, and Commercial to safeguard our operations and unlock business value. Do you want to help teams navigate complex legal requirements by providing clear, practical guidance and supporting the delivery of business priorities? Accountabilities: Business Partnering: Provide timely, actionable legal support and guidance to AstraZeneca Egypt s business units, and the wider MEA region when needed, to protect value, minimize risk, and prevent disruption. Commercial Legal Advice: Deliver proactive, practical guidance to the AstraZeneca Egypt key stakeholders on commercial matters that enable responsible growth and faster patient access. Contracting and Tenders: Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with vendors and third parties; manage renewals and amendments; support end-to-end tender processes with a focus on compliance and competitiveness. Policy and Governance: Review and update internal policies and templates; ensure corporate documents, licenses, and filings are accurate, current, and renewed on time. Employment Support: Advise on routine employment queries and support investigations in partnership with HR to maintain a fair, compliant workplace. IP and Litigation Coordination: Liaise with Global Intellectual Property lawyers; support litigation and disputes, engaging external counsel in a cost-effective, outcome-focused way. Training and Enablement: Design and deliver targeted training to upskill stakeholders and embed compliant, efficient ways of working. Legislative Tracking and Implementation: Monitor new regulations, translate requirements into practical actions, and guide the business through implementation. Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with the Head of Legal Egypt, MEA Legal Director, and colleagues across functions to deliver a seamless, high-quality legal service. Special Projects: Lead or support priority projects assigned by senior legal leadership, demonstrating ownership, sound judgment, and a solutions-first mindset.

Desired Candidate Profile

Essential Skills/

Experience

Law degree Minimum of 3 years of legal experience, preferably in a global law firm or global company Must be a licensed lawyer registered with the Egyptian Bar Association and eligible to practice law in Egypt Working knowledge of Egyptian laws Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Skill in analyzing and solving issues related to a wide variety of substantive legal areas Fluent in English and Arabic (spoken and written) Desirable Skills/

• Pharmaceutical or other regulated industry experience highly desirable
