MEP Estimator

Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP systems based on project specifications, drawings, and scope of work. Analyze and evaluate plans, specifications, and addenda for all MEP components. Project Coordination: Collaborate with design, engineering, and project management teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess the scope of work and address any concerns. Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Identify and solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers for MEP components. Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to ensure competitive and accurate cost proposals. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of all estimates, including breakdowns of labor, materials, overhead, and profit margins. Prepare and submit detailed bid packages for review by project stakeholders. Analysis and Reporting: Conduct value engineering analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities. Provide detailed reports and presentations on estimated costs and project viability to management. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to MEP systems and estimating. Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and tools. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
• Proven experience as an estimator for MEP systems in the construction industry 6 to 8 years
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection
• Proficient in estimating software and tools (e.g. Bluebeam, Plan swift, or equivalent)
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with strong attention to detail
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst - CCEA) are a plus
