Job Overview
Accurately process employee payroll by gathering, verifying, and entering timekeeping data, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. Maintain detailed records of employee earnings, deductions, and taxes, while preparing and distributing paychecks and electronic payments on schedule. Assist in the preparation and filing of payroll tax returns and reports, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies, deductions, and tax withholding with clarity and professionalism.
Desired Candidate Profile
Job Summary We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join our HR/Finance team in Abu Dhabi. The candidate will assist in the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll, attendance, overtime, leave, deductions, and other payroll-related activities. Experience in the UAE construction or MEP industry is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Assist with monthly payroll preparation and processing. Collect and verify employee attendance and timesheet records. Coordinate with site timekeepers regarding attendance and overtime. Calculate overtime, leave, absences, allowances, and deductions. Assist with UAE WPS (Wages Protection System) payroll processing. Maintain accurate employee payroll and salary records. Check payroll data for errors and discrepancies. Coordinate with HR and Finance departments regarding payroll adjustments. Process salary advances, deductions, loans, and other payroll-related entries. Respond to employee queries related to salaries, attendance, overtime, and deductions. Prepare payroll reports and supporting documents for management. Maintain confidentiality of employee salary and personal information. Perform other HR and payroll administrative duties as assigned. Requirements Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field. 2–4 years of payroll experience. UAE experience is preferred. Knowledge of UAE WPS and payroll procedures. Strong knowledge of MS Excel. Experience with payroll/ERP software is an advantage. Previous experience in Construction, MEP, or Contracting companies is preferred. Strong numerical and analytical skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and coordination skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet payroll deadlines. Candidates available to join immediately or on short notice are preferred. Salary & Benefits AED 4,000 – AED 6,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
