PHP Developer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities We are looking for a skilled PHP Developer with strong experience building and maintaining web applications using custom PHP frameworks, as well as familiarity with Laravel. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with existing codebases, understanding custom architecture, writing clean and maintainable PHP code, and contributing to both new development and ongoing system improvements. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance PHP-based web applications. Work with custom-built PHP frameworks and understand existing application architecture. Build new features, fix bugs, and optimize application performance. Work with Laravel-based components or projects when needed. Write clean, secure, reusable, and well-documented code. Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and external services. Work with PostgreSQL or other relational databases to design, query, and optimize data. Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely resolutions. Collaborate with designers, front-end developers, project managers, and other team members. Follow best practices for security, scalability, and performance. Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development standards. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong experience with PHP development. Hands-on experience working with custom PHP frameworks or legacy PHP systems. Familiarity with Laravel framework, including routing, controllers, models, migrations, and Blade templates. Good understanding of object-oriented programming principles. Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL queries, and database optimization. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and jQuery. Experience integrating REST APIs and third-party services. Ability to debug, refactor, and improve existing code. Understanding of version control systems such as Git. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Skills Experience with MVC architecture. Knowledge of Composer and PHP package management. Experience with Laravel Eloquent ORM. Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as Vue.js, React, or Bootstrap. Basic understanding of server environments, hosting, cPanel, Linux, or Apache/Nginx. Experience improving legacy applications. Knowledge of web security best practices. Experience with SSRS / SQL Server Reporting Services is a plus. Experience Prior experience working with custom frameworks, legacy platforms, or Laravel-based applications is a strong plus. Education Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
