Planning Engineer
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Review the submitted programs from the contractors and give comments/consent. Review the submitted update weekly progress reports and give comments/consent. Monitor the progress and give advice to the contractor for the required corrective actions-if required. Review the submitted claim from the contractors for EOT and give comments/consent and recommendations. Daily Progress Reports: you will need to update the information about the progress of activities at site. A section will be used for manpower and is dedicated for material. Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports: you will need to monitor the percentages completed (Actual vs Planned) in addition to any Issues the Contractor has still unanswered. Site Visits: This is the only way you can monitor the activities and have a visual idea about what is ongoing at site. Progress, Coordination, Special, Upper Management Meetings: You will need to keep your eyes focused on three items a. Scope b. Time c. Money Any issue that changes the contractually agreed upon data you need client approval at the earliest. Read and understand Contract Documents; Specifications, drawings, and BOQs Review the Approved Program of Works as often as possible. Keep your eyes on the Long Lead items. Usually, a program of works is divided into five sections. a. Material submittals. b. Shop drawings. c. Procurement d. Construction e. Commissioning and Handing Over. You will need to monitor these processes in sequence Attend the kick off meeting. Participate in the Planning efforts for the project. Do the complete reporting to the client; daily, weekly and monthly. Highlight the weaknesses at site. Verify all the submitted reports by the Contractors Maintain a Master Schedule for the client. Prepare presentations Include all changes to the scope and variation work requested by the Client or the Contractor. Participate in the closing out of the project. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. Professional certification in Project Management (PMP) or equivalent. 10- 15 years of experience in project planning and execution in consultant company. Experience in the Construction industry is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
