Product and Technical Lead

Product & Technical Leadership Own the full product lifecycle and deliver a strong, aligned product roadmap. Work closely with founders and customers to translate needs into features. Lead and mentor the development team, setting modern best practices. Drive an AI-first workflow, ensuring fast, efficient, and future-ready development. Define success metrics (adoption, retention, latency, cost per request) and use data to guide decisions. Engineering & Development Oversee development using the MERN Stack and contribute directly when needed. Support Python-based and AI-integrated projects. Ensure clean architecture, scalability, and high performance. Implement version control, CI/CD, automated testing, and quality standards. Design scalable, secure, cloud-native architectures on AWS, including serverless and containerised services. Lead the integration of AI capabilities: large language model APIs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings and vector search, agents and workflow automation. Set standards for prompt design, model evaluation, guardrails, cost control and responsible AI use. Oversee CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation or similar), observability and incident response. Make build-versus-buy decisions on models, platforms and third-party services. Cloud, Infrastructure & DevOps Own the deployment of applications to AWS across development, staging and production environments. Design and manage core AWS services: EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, RDS/DocumentDB, VPC, IAM and Route 53. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions or similar, including blue/green and canary releases with rollback plans. Provision infrastructure as code with Terraform, AWS CDK or CloudFormation. Run AI workloads on AWS, including Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker where suitable. Set up monitoring, logging and alerting with CloudWatch, X-Ray or equivalent tools, and own uptime and incident response. Apply AWS security and cost best practice: least-privilege IAM, secrets management, encryption, autoscaling and regular cost reviews. AI-Driven Innovation Integrate AI tools, ML models, automation frameworks, and next-gen methodologies. Replace slow, traditional coding habits with fast, modern, AI-assisted workflows. Identify and deliver AI-powered product features. Quality Management Define and own the quality strategy, including test plans, acceptance criteria and release sign-off. Test features hands-on before release: exploratory, functional, regression and user-acceptance testing. Build and maintain automated tests across the stack: unit (Jest, Mocha), API (Supertest, Postman) and end-to-end (Cypress, Playwright). Integrate tests into CI/CD so no build reaches production without passing quality gates. Test AI features for accuracy, consistency, safety and edge cases, using evaluation sets and human review. Lead performance, load and security testing for critical releases. Track defects, root causes and quality metrics (escaped bugs, test coverage, mean time to recovery) and drive fixes.

Requirements

• Technical Skills Strong expertise in MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js (MERN)

• Experience in SaaS development is a major plus
