Project Manager
Job Overview
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, and monitoring project activities to ensure the successful achievement of project outcomes and objectives. Within their mandate, the Project Manager will oversee project progress against the established plan, ensure effective management of team members and the implementing partner, and provide technical support to the team. They must maintain effective communication with key stakeholders. The Project Manager will work closely with relevant service providers and support functions within Life Makers Foundation to ensure the smooth implementation and effective delivery of project activities, as well as ensuring proper management of the project budget, including planning, expenditure authorization, and reporting. Duties
- Project support It provides day-to-day leadership and high-quality project delivery: field operations, management, logistics
- Supervising the successful implementation of project activities, and ensuring on-time delivery in accordance with the agreed timeline, monitoring and evaluation plan and budget
- Providing technical support to the project team, including facilitating meetings, training sessions, and one-on-one sessions
- Liaising with various internal departments to ensure timely administrative, logistical and financial support for the project and participating partners
- Conducting field visits and supervising field work
- Supervising the proper implementation of all services and consultations provided in the project
- Ensuring the effective management of project resources, including budgeting, financial reporting, and accurate expenditure reporting
- Finalize the project's monitoring and evaluation plan in line with its logical framework
- Conduct participatory assessments, focus groups, and surveys based on defined success indicators and a follow-up and evaluation plan
- Capacity building Identifying learning and training opportunities for the project team
- Working as a role model for less experienced employees
- Managing and motivating the project team to perform at a high level in their roles and responsibilities
- This includes leading the staffing structure, recruitment, performance management, and implementing the employee wellbeing policy
- Partner Management Supporting the establishment and maintenance of effective and regular working relationships with key stakeholders, including local organizations, relevant government authorities, and relevant actors
- Ensuring the participation of suitable partners
- Supporting the project team and targeted beneficiaries in establishing communication with relevant actors at the community level (private sector, service providers, NGOs, and local government partners) to support project-related interventions
- Reports and Follow-up Preparing high-quality periodic reports that reflect the project's progress and outputs
- Monitoring work plans and performance indicators, and ensuring that financial reports are submitted in accordance with the organization's policies
- Conducting interim assessments and collecting the necessary data to analyze the results and prepare impact measurement reports
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree/Licentiate, preferably a Master's degree in a related field. Over 10 years of successful project management experience, with at least 5 years of experience in development; relevant project management experience preferred. Strong skills in financial management, specifically in budget control, cost sharing, and preparing financial reports for donors. Planning, follow-up, and reporting skills. Experience in leading and developing teams, performance management, and capacity building. Experience in budget management, procurement, and reporting Excellent reporting skills with a good understanding of the principles of monitoring and evaluation. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data collection tools and enterprise resource planning/logistics systems. Flexibility in time and the ability to work under pressure. The ability to travel regularly to Cairo.
