QS Engineer & Quantity Surveyor

Prepare accurate quantity take-offs from approved drawings, specifications, and site measurements. Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and supporting measurement sheets. Assist with tender preparation, bid comparisons, and subcontractor evaluations in coordination with the Procurement and Contracts team. Prepare monthly payment applications to the consultant/client and follow up on their assessment and certification. Review subcontractor payment applications and verify quantities, rates, and supporting documents before recommending payment. Identify, measure, and price variations, and maintain records of instructions, submissions, and approvals. Monitor project costs against the approved budget and report cost variances and potential financial risks. Assist the Contracts team in preparing contractual notices and supporting documentation for financial claims. Prepare periodic commercial reports and assist with final accounts for the main contract and subcontracts. Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, procurement, and accounts to maintain accurate quantity and cost records.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Minimum of 3 years of relevant quantity surveying experience in building construction, preferably with a main contractor. UAE building construction experience is preferred. Practical experience in quantity take-offs, BOQs, payment applications, subcontractor valuations, and variations. Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, measurement methods, and contract conditions. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with quantity take-off or estimating software such as PlanSwift, CostX, or Candy. Familiarity with AutoCAD; experience with BIM-based quantity take-offs is an advantage. Good written and spoken English, attention to detail, and the ability to meet submission deadlines. Relevant professional membership, such as MRICS, is an advantage. Employment Type Full-time
