Robotics Embedded System Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Robotics Embedded System Engineer to join our R&D team in Dubai, UAE. You will architect, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions for advanced robotic platforms, ensuring robust performance and seamless integration of sensors, actuators, and control algorithms in a Linux/ROS2 environment.

Responsibilities

Design and implement real-time embedded software for robotic systems using C++ and Python Integrate and configure ROS2 packages, custom drivers, and middleware on Linux-based platforms Collaborate with hardware engineers to define and test sensor interfaces, communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART), and motor controllers Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests to validate software functionality and reliability Optimize system performance and resource utilization under real-time constraints Troubleshoot hardware-software interactions and perform field deployments and maintenance Maintain documentation, perform code reviews, and follow best practices in version control and software configuration management Work cross-functionally with mechanical, electronics, and algorithm teams to deliver turnkey robotic solutions Required

Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science or related field 4 7 years of professional experience in embedded systems development for robotics Proficiency in C++ and Python for real-time and high-performance applications Hands-on experience with ROS2 framework and Linux OS (Ubuntu or similar) Strong understanding of embedded hardware architectures (ARM, microcontrollers) and peripheral interfaces Experience with debugging tools (GDB, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and version control (Git) Solid problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced R&D environment Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English

Preferred Qualifications

Master s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering Experience with real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS, RTEMS) Familiarity with FPGA-based design or hardware acceleration Knowledge of computer vision or machine learning algorithms for robotics Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks Position Details Position Title: Robotics Embedded System Engineer
