Senior Database Support Engineer

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 6 + years of combined experience in database development and/or database support roles. Strong proficiency in developing stored procedures, functions, triggers, and ETL processes. Strong expertise in configuring and maintaining database software across production and non-production environments. Expertise in MySQL and PostgreSQL databases. Expertise in MongoDB or Couchbase databases. Expertise in implementing and managing Redis caching solutions. Hands-on experience with MinIO or S3-compatible object storage — bucket management, access policies (IAM), lifecycle rules, and data archival integration. Knowledge of data lakehouse concepts and tooling — Apache Iceberg / Delta Lake table formats, query engines such as Dremio, Trino, or Apache Spark, and metadata catalogue services (e.g., Project Nessie). Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark). Knowledge of data warehouse technologies. Experience in performance tuning and optimisation. Good knowledge of backup and recovery procedures. Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or JavaScript. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
