Senior Engineer - Plant and Machinery

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities The Senior Engineer for Plant & Machinery will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of plant machinery and equipment. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, project management skills, and the ability to lead teams in the troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of plant equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of operational safety and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance & Operation: Oversee the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of plant machinery and equipment. Ensure optimal functioning and performance of all mechanical systems in the plant. Develop, implement, and optimize preventive maintenance schedules for all critical machinery. Perform root-cause analysis for recurring issues and provide recommendations for improvements. Project Management: Lead projects related to the installation, upgrade, or replacement of machinery and equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, engineering, procurement) for smooth project execution. Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope. Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machinery uptime, reduce costs, and improve overall plant efficiency. Implement best practices in equipment reliability and performance management. Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent downtime. Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to all plant safety regulations and maintenance procedures. Ensure that all machinery operates within the prescribed safety and environmental standards. Lead risk assessments, audits, and safety inspections related to plant machinery. Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead, train, and mentor junior engineers and technicians to build a high-performing team. Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and innovation. Work closely with production and operations teams to align machinery capabilities with production goals. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and machine performance metrics. Generate regular reports on machine downtime, maintenance costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Ensure proper documentation of machinery manuals, service histories, and upgrades.
