Senior Technical Lead

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities The Senior Technical Lead aims to lead the technical delivery of the Oman Housing Bank (OHB) Applications and Digital Banking platform. This role serves as the primary technical authority, bridging strategy and execution across frontend, backend, and integration layers. The Technical Lead will guide architecture decisions, mentor the engineering team, and ensure all technical components are delivered with quality, security, and scalability in mind. Key responsibilities Technical Evaluation & Recommendations : Evaluate existing systems, tools, and technologies. Provide data-driven recommendations on technical approaches, frameworks, and architectural decisions that align with business goals and OHB standards Solution Design & Technical Architecture : Lead the design of scalable, secure, and maintainable system architectures. Define technical blueprints for frontend, backend, integrations, and digital banking channels including Temenos Quantum Infinity. Technical Planning & Resource Leadership : Develop detailed technical work plans, estimate effort, assign tasks to developers, and ensure efficient use of team capacity across all sprint cycles and project phases. Collaboration with Project Manager: Work closely with the Project Manager to align technical execution with project timelines, scope, and deliverables. Provide technical status updates, flag dependencies, and proactively communicate risks. Execution of Technical Components & Integration Management: Oversee and directly contribute to the development of core system components. Manage integration between the frontend, backend services, core banking systems (T24/Transact), and third-party APIs Quality Assurance in Technical Deliverables : Establish and enforce code quality standards, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to Software Architecture patterns, centralized design systems, and project-specific conventions. Champion automated testing practices. Risk Mitigation in Technical Domain: Identify technical risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure contingency plans are in place for critical system components and integration points. Go-Live & Handover Management: Lead technical preparations for system go-live, including environment setup, deployment orchestration, and post-launch support. Ensure comprehensive technical documentation and a smooth handover to operations and client teams. Desired Candidate Profile Education & Experience---- Degree : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Experience : progressive experience in software engineering and IT project delivery, with a track record of delivering complex, enterprise-grade systems. Leadership : in a Technical Lead, Solution Architect, or Senior Engineering Lead role, with hands-on team management and mentoring experience. Domain : Proven experience in Banking or FinTech environments, ideally leading digital banking transformation or branch automation projects. Technical Architecture & Design -- Architecture : Strong expertise in designing end-to-end solution architectures including microservices, API-first design, event-driven systems, and multi-tier application design. Ability to produce architecture decision records (ADRs) and technical blueprints. Standards & NFRs : Experience defining and enforcing non-functional requirements (performance, availability, scalability), technical standards, SLAs, and operating models in alignment with contractual scope. Security : Solid knowledge of security best practices applicable to banking systems including OWASP, OAuth 2.0, JWT, data encryption standards, and coordination with ISO/IT-Ops for security observations closure Technology Stack ---- Frontend : Hands-on experience with Flutter/Dart or equivalent modern cross-platform frameworks (e.g. React Native, Ionic). Ability to evaluate and adopt the right framework based on project requirements and platform targets. Backend : Proficiency in Node.js/NestJS, Java Spring Boot, .NET Core, or equivalent enterprise backend frameworks. Ability to design and oversee RESTful, event-driven, and microservice-based architectures regardless of the specific stack. Databases : Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL) and NoSQL/caching solutions (Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch) or equivalent. Ability to guide data modelling, schema design, and query optimization decisions across different database technologies. APIs & Integration: Strong experience with REST, GraphQL, OData, and SOAP API design and integration patterns. Familiarity with middleware, ESB, and iPaaS platforms for connecting heterogeneous banking and third-party systems. Cloud & DevOps : Working knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and CI/CD toolchains (Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) or equivalent. Able to define deployment architecture and oversee infrastructure provisioning across environments. Proven Delivery : Demonstrated track record of successfully releasing production-grade applications to end users including mobile apps (iOS/Android) or web platforms from development through go-live, with measurable adoption and stable post-launch operations Temenos Quantum Infinity Capabilities- ----- Experience with Temenos Quantum Infinity (formerly Kony) platform for omnichannel digital banking development. Ability to design and lead development of mobile and web banking applications using Temenos Quantum Infinity. Knowledge of Temenos Quantum Infinity architecture, APIs, and integration patterns with core banking systems. Experience configuring and customizing Temenos Quantum components for banking workflows and omnichannel journeys. Familiarity with Temenos core banking integration (T24/Transact), including OFS/API based connectivity and transaction processing flows. Ability to lead the technical delivery of digital banking channels using the Temenos Quantum platform, including go-live readiness and handover to support teams. Soft Skills & Standards---- Leadership : Proven ability to lead and mentor cross-functional development teams in Agile/Scrum environments, fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability. Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders including executives and business owners. Risk Management : Ability to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks across complex integration landscapes, with sound contingency planning skills. Decision Making: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with confidence in making sound technical decisions under pressure and in ambiguous situations. Stakeholder Management : Experience engaging with project managers, business owners, third-party vendors, and executive stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparent progress reporting.
