Sr. Accountant

Financial Accounting & Reporting Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and company policies. Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger, trial balance, and reconciliations. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes. Support external and internal audits, ensuring timely completion. Project & Cost Accounting Monitor and control project costs, revenues, and profitability. Review project budgets, variations, and cost allocations. Maintain accurate records of project expenses, subcontractor payments, and client billings. Analyze project cash flows and report variances against budget. Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversee supplier invoices, subcontractor bills, and employee claims for accuracy and compliance with company policies. Ensure timely collection of receivables and follow-up with clients for outstanding payments. Maintain proper aging analysis of payables and receivables. Compliance & Taxation Ensure compliance with UAE VAT laws, timely filing of VAT returns, and maintaining supporting documentation. Liaise with banks, auditors, and government authorities as required. Ensure compliance with company’s financial and internal control policies. Treasury & Cash Flow Management Prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure adequate liquidity for project execution. Monitor bank facilities (LCs, performance bonds, guarantees) and coordinate with banks. Manage petty cash, project imprests, and employee reimbursements. Team Leadership & Coordination Supervise junior accountants and ensure accuracy of their work. Provide guidance and training on accounting procedures, systems, and controls. Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and contracts teams for financial matters.

Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (Master’s preferred). Minimum 8–10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the UAE contracting/construction industry. Proficient in ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
