Tax and Compliance Associate
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities The Tax and Compliance Associate is a full-time, on-site position based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The role is ideal for a finance professional looking to gain hands-on experience in accounting, taxation, and corporate services. The Associate will be responsible for maintaining clients' books of accounts, preparing accounting records, performing vouching and reconciliations, assisting with VAT and Corporate Tax compliance, and supporting company incorporation and post-incorporation processes across UAE mainland and free zones. The role also involves maintaining statutory and corporate records, preparing and reviewing documentation required for regulatory authorities, liaising with government departments and free zones, and ensuring compliance with applicable UAE laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities Prepare and maintain books of accounts for multiple clients. Perform vouching, ledger scrutiny, bank reconciliations, and month-end accounting activities. Prepare and file UAE Value Added Tax (VAT) returns. Support company incorporations, license renewals, amendments, visa-related applications, and other corporate compliance matters. Prepare, organize, and maintain statutory, tax, and incorporation documents. Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting documentation for audits and regulatory submissions. Research updates in UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and other relevant regulations and implement changes where required. Respond to client queries professionally and provide timely support. Maintain accurate records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field (Finance background is mandatory). 0-2 years of experience in accounting, VAT, taxation, or corporate services is preferred. Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and preparation of VAT returns. Familiarity with UAE company incorporation procedures is an advantage. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis). Working knowledge of Tally and other accounting software such as Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar ERP/accounting systems. Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team environment.
