Record and verify daily financial transactions, ensuring accurate entries in the accounting system and proper maintenance of the general ledger. Manage accounts payable, including reviewing supplier invoices, verifying supporting documents, obtaining approvals, and processing payments within agreed timelines. Maintain accounts receivable records, issue customer invoices, monitor outstanding balances, and follow up on overdue payments. Prepare regular bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure that bank transactions are accurately reflected in the company’s financial records. Reconcile supplier and customer accounts, resolve balance differences, and coordinate with relevant departments to address payment or invoicing issues. Process employee expense claims, petty cash transactions, and reimbursements in accordance with company policies and approval procedures. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including preparing journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations. Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules to help management assess financial performance. Support the preparation of VAT returns by reviewing transaction records, checking supporting invoices, and maintaining organised tax documentation. Assist with corporate tax documentation, financial schedules, and filing requirements in coordination with the finance manager or appointed tax adviser. Support payroll processing by verifying employee payment information, approved deductions, reimbursements, and payroll accounting entries. Maintain fixed asset records and assist with depreciation calculations, asset reconciliations, and documentation of additions or disposals. Monitor expenses against approved budgets, identify unusual transactions, and report significant variances to management. Assist internal and external auditors by preparing requested schedules, providing supporting documents, and responding to accounting queries. Maintain complete and organised accounting records, ensuring that invoices, receipts, contracts, and payment documents are readily available. Follow internal financial controls, maintain confidentiality, and recommend practical improvements to accounting procedures. Coordinate with purchasing, sales, operations, and other departments to ensure timely submission of accurate financial information.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution. A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, or a similar role. Previous UAE accounting experience preferred, particularly in handling day-to-day transactions, reconciliations, and month-end closing. Sound knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial statement preparation. Familiarity with UAE VAT processes and corporate tax documentation, with the ability to coordinate effectively with tax advisers. Practical experience in preparing bank reconciliations, supplier reconciliations, customer statements, and accounting schedules. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookup functions, pivot tables, and the preparation of financial reports. Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or an ERP system. Ability to review financial information carefully, identify discrepancies, investigate errors, and maintain accurate records. Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet reporting deadlines. Good communication skills to coordinate with colleagues, customers, suppliers, auditors, and management. A responsible and professional approach to handling confidential financial information. Ability to work independently on routine accounting tasks while contributing effectively to the finance team. Relevant professional qualifications or progress towards ACCA, CMA, CPA, or CA would be an advantage. UAE degree equivalency/qualification recognition certificate preferred.
