Assistant Health & Safety Engineer / Civil Engineer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Conduct daily HSE inspections at plant and site areas, identify hazards, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Monitor compliance with PPE requirements, Permit-to-Work (PTW), risk assessments, and safe work procedures. Support preparation of HSE reports, incident reports, toolbox talks, and safety documentation. Assist in incident/near-miss investigations and perform root cause analysis. Maintain HSE records, inspection checklists, audit reports, and compliance documentation. Support implementation of HSE policies, procedures, and UAE safety regulations. Review civil drawings, BOQs, and site layouts for accuracy and compliance. Supervise minor civil works, repairs, and maintenance activities at site. Conduct material inspections and ensure quality standards are maintained. Coordinate with contractors and vendors for civil and HSE-related activities. Monitor project progress, prepare site reports, and maintain documentation. Identify structural/civil issues and recommend preventive actions. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 2–4 years of experience in HSE, Civil Engineering, Construction, or Industrial Plant environments. UAE/GCC experience preferred. Knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and safety standards. NEBOSH IGC / IOSH certification will be an added advantage. Strong knowledge of risk assessment, JSA, PTW, incident investigation, and safety inspections. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and Excel reporting. Good understanding of civil drawings, BOQs, materials, and site execution. Strong attention to detail with excellent reporting and documentation skills. Ability to work independently in a plant/site-based environment. Strong communication and coordination skills with contractors and internal teams.
