Job Description Roles & Responsibilities The German University in Cairo invites applications for vacancies to be filled effective September 2026. Faculty of Engineering and Materials Science (EMS) is seeking a highly qualified and motivated candidate to join the Department of Design and Production Engineering program. We invite applications for a full-time academic position in the field of Engineering Design at the rank of Lecturer or Associate Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. Duties and Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to classical and advanced mechanical engineering design. Supervise student projects and theses. Conduct high-quality research and publish in reputable international journals. Engage in curriculum development and continuous improvement of teaching materials. Contribute to departmental and university service activities. Foster partnerships with industry and participate in interdisciplinary research initiatives. Desired Candidate Profile A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Design or a closely related field from a recognized and reputable university. A strong teaching record at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Proficiency in modern design and simulation tools CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, NX, ANSYS, Abaqus, etc.), Programming (Python, MATLAB, or similar) Ability to develop advanced, technology-oriented learning environments. Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research supported by publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals. Experience in funded research projects is an asset. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to academic excellence and innovation in teaching and research.
