Broadcast Engineer

Job Summary:The Broadcast Engineer is responsible for supporting the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of broadcast systems in a 24/7 news environment. This role works closely with production teams to ensure smooth transmission of live and pre-recorded content. The Broadcast Engineer ensures all equipment—from cameras and control room systems to transmission and signal flow is functioning optimally, while responding promptly to technical issues to minimize downtime.Key Responsibilities:Operate and maintain studio equipment, control rooms, transmission systems, and field gear used for broadcasting.Monitor live broadcasts and provide immediate technical support during on-air issues.Perform routine maintenance, updates, and repairs on broadcast systems.Collaborate with production and editorial teams to support daily news operations.Assist in system configuration, testing, and integration of new equipment.Maintain documentation of technical procedures, system diagrams, and fault logs.Follow operational protocols and ensure compliance with broadcast standards and safety guidelines.Participate in shift rotations, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call support.
