Data Migration Specialist

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities One of our biggest clients in the telecom industry is looking for a Data Migration Specialist/Developer . Duties & Responsibilities: Plan, design, and execute end-to-end data migration activities for Oracle Digital BSS transformation projects. Migrate customer, billing, product, service, inventory, and order data from legacy telecom systems into Oracle Siebel CRM, Oracle BRM, Oracle UIM, and Oracle OSM. Assess and profile source data to identify quality issues and define migration strategies. Prepare source-to-target mapping documents and define data transformation rules. Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data. Develop SQL, PL/SQL, and Python scripts to automate migration, transformation, and data processing activities. Perform data cleansing, transformation, reconciliation, and validation to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Execute migration testing, analyze defects, and resolve data-related issues in collaboration with business and technical teams. Optimize database and migration script performance to support high-volume data processing. Support migration rehearsals, production cutover, Hypercare, and post-migration verification. Produce migration documentation, execution reports, and technical deliverables in accordance with project standards. Collaborate with business, architecture, development, testing, and operations teams to ensure successful migration delivery. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience delivering large-scale data migration projects, preferably within the telecommunications industry. Proven experience migrating data from legacy telecom platforms to modern BSS/OSS solutions. Strong understanding of the complete data migration lifecycle, including assessment, mapping, cleansing, transformation, loading, reconciliation, and validation. Hands-on experience with Oracle Digital BSS applications, including Oracle Siebel CRM, Oracle BRM, Oracle UIM, and Oracle OSM. Strong expertise in Oracle Database, SQL, and PL/SQL, with experience developing Python-based migration utilities. Hands-on experience with ETL and data integration tools such as Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Informatica, Talend, DataStage, or equivalent platforms. Solid understanding of data architecture, data modelling, source-to-target mapping, data lineage, and data quality principles. Experience with migration testing, reconciliation reporting, and defect analysis. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
