Estimation Engineer - Mechanical / or Electromech / Electrical

Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and technical documents to accurately determine the scope of mechanical or electromechanical work required. Quantify material, labor, and equipment needs, translating technical drawings into detailed bills of materials and resource estimates. Develop comprehensive cost breakdowns, including direct and indirect costs, overhead, and profit margins, ensuring competitive and profitable bids. Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and procurement teams to gather all necessary information and validate estimates. To prepare accurate and competitive electromechanical cost estimates and tender submissions for Oil & Gas, EPC, brownfield, maintenance and modification projects. Responsible in providing cost estimates for Projects and/or Services, Responsible for building the Direct Costs estimate and give guidance to Activity Allowance issues. Responsible for producing the Control Cost Estimate at 80% of Project Progress. Inputting payments in Company SAP system that includes creating service entries and technical release. Liaising and providing commercial/contractual awareness to other disciplines (Engineering, Operation, construction, etc) when required. Review of Bids and Quotations from Vendors on completeness and to be included in Direct costs

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Degree in a relevant engineering discipline and membership of internationally accepted applicable professional Institute. Minimum of 10 years of experience in cost estimation for mechanical or electromechanical projects and with a proven track record of successful project bids. Preferable familiar with Company or Shell standards and guidelines Fully conversant with International Design & Construction Standards for the Oil & gas industry. Skills in SAP, SAP BW, CCES, Candy, Primavera and other Cost control and Estimating systems Proficiency in using estimation software (e.g., CostX, Sage Estimating, Procore) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). or similar tools is essential for efficiency. Excellent MS Excel skills with strong analytical and commercial capabilities. The candidate should have relevant experience in Oil & Gas / EPC / Engineering & Construction projects, Excellent understanding of electrical and mechanical construction methodology Energetic person who is self-starting, takes initiatives, has a high degree of personal integrity, high standard of business ethics, good commercial acumen with adequate computer skills (familiar with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel as a minimum). Can actively train and encourage the development of Omani personnel Both accuracy and consistency are good personal requirements. Be able to challenge Cost Estimates prepared by others and Third Party. Oil & Gas/EPC experience mandatory & Oman / GCC Oil & Gas experience is preferred. PDO project experience will be an added advantage. Additional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Cost Engineering or Project Management will be an advantage. Employment Type Full-time
