Financial Controller

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Financial Leadership and Governance Lead the finance and accounting function across the business. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Strengthen financial controls, approval processes, accounting policies, and governance. Maintain strong compliance with IFRS, tax, audit, and statutory requirements. Provide the CEO and senior management with reliable financial analysis and decision support. Identify financial, operational, and commercial risks and recommend corrective action. Lead budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and performance reviews. Project and Construction Finance Monitor project costs against approved budgets, BOQs, commitments, and forecasts. Establish clear financial visibility by project, development, phase, property, and workstream. Analyse construction costs, procurement expenditure, inventory consumption, labour costs, and contractor payments. Improve project profitability, margin, cost-to-complete, and variance reporting. Ensure costs are correctly allocated through appropriate WBS and project-cost structures. Work closely with project, procurement, commercial, and site teams to identify cost leakage and inefficiencies. Support management in controlling project expenditure and maintaining projects within approved budgets. Cash Flow, Treasury and Working Capital Lead short-term and long-term cash-flow planning and forecasting. Maintain visibility across liquidity, working capital, receivables, payables, commitments, and financial exposure. Coordinate banking relationships, payment planning, treasury activities, and funding requirements. Improve collection, payment, and working-capital discipline. Ensure timely bank reconciliations and accurate cash reporting. Support leadership in prioritising expenditure and making informed funding decisions. ERP, Reporting and Finance Transformation Support the implementation and effective use of Oracle ERP across the business. Improve finance coding, project accounting, reporting workflows, and data accuracy. Help establish Oracle as the primary source of financial and operational reporting. Develop practical dashboards and management reports covering costs, budgets, cash flow, profitability, and operational performance. Strengthen integration between finance, procurement, inventory, projects, and commercial operations. Lead improvements to existing finance processes, controls, and reporting structures. Team Leadership and Business Partnership Lead, develop, and strengthen the finance and accounting team. Establish clear responsibilities, accountability, performance standards, and reporting timelines. Work closely with procurement, projects, operations, commercial, legal, and executive leadership. Build a commercially aware finance culture that supports operational delivery while maintaining strong controls. Challenge unsupported transactions, weak controls, inaccurate reporting, and unnecessary expenditure. Communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
