Indirect Tax Manager

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities We are looking for an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to join our growing Tax Advisory team. The successful candidate will have strong UAE VAT expertise, experience managing client engagements, and the ability to deliver practical tax solutions while supporting the firm's growth. This role involves managing VAT compliance, advisory assignments, FTA matters, and mentoring junior team members. Key Responsibilities VAT Compliance & Reporting Manage the preparation, review, and timely submission of VAT returns, refund applications, voluntary disclosures, and other indirect tax filings in compliance with UAE VAT regulations. Ensure clients remain fully compliant with Federal Tax Authority (FTA) requirements by identifying and mitigating VAT risks. Review VAT calculations, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. Advise clients on VAT registration, deregistration, and ongoing compliance obligations. Supervise and review the work of junior team members. VAT Advisory & Tax Planning Provide practical VAT advisory services on transactions, contracts, restructurings, and cross-border business activities. Research and interpret UAE VAT legislation, FTA guidance, and relevant public clarifications. Conduct VAT health checks, compliance reviews, and indirect tax risk assessments. Prepare technical opinions, reports, and client recommendations. VAT Audits & FTA Engagement Manage VAT audits, tax assessments, and FTA reviews from planning through completion. Prepare responses to FTA queries, audit documentation, and voluntary disclosures. Liaise with the FTA on behalf of clients during audits and compliance reviews. Support clients in resolving VAT disputes and technical matters. Indirect Tax, E-Invoicing & Tax Technology Advise clients on UAE VAT, Excise Tax, e-invoicing requirements, and GCC indirect tax developments. Assist clients with implementing e-invoicing and tax technology solutions to improve compliance and reporting. Monitor regulatory developments and communicate relevant changes to clients and internal teams. Client Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by delivering high-quality, responsive service. Manage multiple client engagements while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met. Present VAT findings, recommendations, and technical updates to clients. Mentor and support junior team members through coaching and technical guidance. Business Development Support business development initiatives by identifying opportunities within existing client portfolios. Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and engagement letters. Participate in networking events and contribute to technical articles, webinars, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Collaborate with partners and senior management to support the firm's growth objectives. Desired Candidate Profile 3–5 years of UAE experience in VAT and Indirect Tax within a consulting, professional services, or corporate environment. Strong knowledge of UAE VAT legislation, compliance requirements, and FTA regulations. Hands-on experience managing VAT compliance, FTA audits, assessments, and advisory engagements. Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory. UAE Registered Tax Agent certification is preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical research skills. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client relationship skills. Experience supervising or mentoring junior professionals.
