Mechanical Inspector (Pumping & Irrigation)
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Inspector (Pumping & Irrigation) to join our team. The Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for inspecting mechanical installations, pumping systems, irrigation networks, testing activities, and handover documentation, ensuring adherence to approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, safety protocols, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will possess practical expertise in mechanical inspection, equipment installation, pressure testing, and commissioning support. Responsibilities: Inspect installation of pumps, valves, pipes, supports, irrigation networks, mechanical equipment, and related infrastructure elements. Verify mechanical works against approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, quality requirements, and safety standards. Review inspection requests, material delivery records, equipment datasheets, checklists, testing records, and as-built information. Identify installation defects, non-compliant works, equipment issues, and unsafe conditions, and follow up corrective actions with contractors. Support pressure testing, pump testing, functional verification, commissioning checks, snagging, and handover activities. Coordinate with engineers, contractors, QA/QC teams, and commissioning teams during inspections and close-out activities. Prepare daily inspection reports, site observations, punch lists, and progress updates. Support project close-out by verifying completion of inspection records, testing documentation, and handover submissions. Desired Candidate Profile Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven work experience of at least 5 years in mechanical inspection for pumping stations, irrigation systems, and infrastructure projects. Good knowledge of pump installation, irrigation networks, valves, piping, supports, mechanical equipment, pressure testing, and commissioning activities. Ability to inspect works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and safety requirements. Strong site observation and documentation skills, with the ability to identify defects and follow up corrective actions. Excellent coordination and communication skills with engineers, contractors, QA/QC teams, and commissioning teams. Mechanical inspection experience in pumping and irrigation works, preferably fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
