MEP Purchasing Engineer

Review MEP material requisitions received from projects and the MEP Technical Office against the approved BOQ, material submittals, and specifications, and clarify technical gaps with the requesting engineer before floating the enquiry. Float requests for quotation (RFQs) to approved MEP suppliers and subcontractors for HVAC equipment, electrical panels and cables, firefighting and plumbing materials, and prepare the technical comparison sheet in coordination with the MEP Technical Office. Prepare the commercial comparison sheet covering price, payment terms, delivery lead time, warranty, and country of origin, and submit it with a recommendation to the Procurement Section Head for approval. Issue purchase orders on Oracle ERP (Purchasing module) after approval, and maintain complete PO documentation quotations, comparisons, approvals, and technical submittments in accordance with the company QMS. Track long-lead MEP equipment (chillers, AHUs, generators, LV panels, elevators) against the project procurement schedule and escalate any lead time that threatens the installation programme. Expedite deliveries with suppliers and coordinate with site stores, logistics, and the MEP site team on delivery dates, partial shipments, and material receipt at site. Coordinate with the Finance and Accounts Departments on supplier invoices, three-way matching of PO, goods receipt note (GRN), and invoice, and follow up on advance and milestone payments. Support supplier prequalification and evaluation by collecting technical and commercial data, trade licenses, and performance records, and updating the approved MEP vendor list. Maintain the MEP price database and historical rates, and provide indicative prices and lead times to the Estimation and Technical Office teams during tender stage. Follow up on rejected, damaged, or non-conforming MEP deliveries with the supplier until replacement, credit note, or closure of the related NCR. Prepare the periodic purchasing status report open requisitions, issued POs, committed values, and pending deliveries per project and submit it to the Procurement Section Head.
