Quality Engineer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Responsibilities Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements. Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing activities. Identify, document, track, and verify defects using defect management tools. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Participate in requirements analysis and provide feedback to improve testability and product quality. Develop and maintain automated test scripts and testing frameworks where applicable. Validate APIs, databases, and system integrations. Perform performance, usability, and compatibility testing when required. Analyze test results and prepare quality metrics, reports, and recommendations. Support release activities, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and post-production validation. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, testing standards, and quality assurance processes. Non-Technical Responsibilities Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. Communicate testing progress, risks, and quality concerns to stakeholders. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Mentor junior team members and share best practices when applicable. Promote a quality-first mindset across the development lifecycle. Demonstrate ownership and accountability for deliverables and testing outcomes. Desired Candidate Profile Must Have 3 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering. Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Experience in manual testing methodologies and defect management processes. Knowledge of test case design techniques and testing best practices. Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or Zephyr . Experience in API testing using tools such as Postman or similar platforms. Basic knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques. Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies. Understanding of regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and user acceptance testing. Experience in preparing test plans, test scenarios, and test reports.
