Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Job Number: GPI018 Title: R&D Manager - Food Manufacturing Product: GPI is expert in Condiments & Sauces, Spreads & Cereals, Baking Mixes & Desserts. Location: Dubai – DIP Total Vacancy: 01 Nos Responsibilities: Gulf Processing Industries LLC (GPI) is seeking R&D manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading product development, innovation, improvement projects, and R&D activities while ensuring alignment with food safety, quality, and business requirements. The role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). Key Responsibilities: Lead R&D activities for wet condiments including mayonnaise, ketchup, sauces, dressings, and spreads. Develop new products and improve existing formulations based on market trends, customer requirements, and business objectives. Manage product trials, pilot batches, scale-up activities, and commercialization processes. Conduct formulation optimization, ingredient evaluation, shelf-life studies, and cost improvement initiatives. Collaborate with Quality, Production, Procurement, and Commercial teams for successful product launches, Need to be presented in Gulf food. Ensure compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Maintain R&D documentation, product specifications, formulation records, and technical reports. Support continuous improvement initiatives and troubleshooting of product/process-related issues. Strong knowledge of Excel for data analysis, reporting, and R&D documentation. Experience working with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle) is required. Awareness of S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process and cross-functional coordination. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology / Food Science / Food Engineering or related discipline. Experience Required: Minimum 8 years of experience in R&D within FMCG Food Manufacturing, specifically in the Condiments Industry. Strong expertise in wet condiment manufacturing, including: Mayonnaise Ketchup Sauces Spreads Dressings and related products Proven experience in product formulation, product innovation, and commercialization. Experience in UAE or GCC food manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
