SAFETY TECHNICIAN

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Qualifications and Experience Safety technicians shall have completed twelve (12) years secondary school education and eight (8) years Petrochemical or Oil & Gas experience. Must be adequately qualified with valid certificates to perform safety inspections. Shall have a good command in English, both written and spoken. The main responsibilities are: a) Check the training and PPE compliance for all QP and contractor employees such as training passport validity, wearing coveralls, safety helmet and safety shoes before entering the Refinery restricted area gate. b) Inspect of all mobile equipment (Vehicles, machines and cranes etc.,) that they have spark arrestors, fire extinguishers, good condition in electrical and fuel systems, valid certificate and are authorized to enter the Refinery restricted areas. c) Inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles to ensure material and vehicles have the appropriate material pass and accompany driver to the correct location within the plant or to alternative areas. d) Report and stop entry of all sources of ignition which may be carried by personnel (lighters, matchboxes, radios, cameras and mobile phones etc.,) to the restricted areas. e) Record the daily labor, heavy vehicles, machineries and materials movement in and out of the refinery and report it to Sr. Safety Technician (Access Control). f) Assist Sr. Safety Access Controller to coordinate the operation of emergency activities, control the operation of the access control gate and record the arrival time of emergency services. Desired Candidate Profile Safety technicians shall have completed twelve (12) years secondary school education and eight (8) years Petrochemical or Oil & Gas experience.
