Senior Auditor

Plan and conduct internal and external audits for construction and contracting operations. Review financial statements, ledgers, project accounts, and supporting documents for accuracy and compliance. Audit project costs, revenue, WIP, variations, subcontractor payments, and retention amounts. Review contracts, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, invoices, and payment certificates. Verify project budgets vs. actual costs and identify cost overruns, irregularities, and financial risks. Conduct audits of procurement, purchasing, inventory, payroll, petty cash, and fixed assets. Review subcontractor and supplier accounts, including outstanding balances and reconciliation. Check compliance with company policies, financial controls, accounting standards, and applicable UAE regulations. Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements. Identify financial discrepancies, control weaknesses, fraud risks, and non-compliance. Coordinate with external auditors and provide required financial records, schedules, and supporting documentation. Prepare audit working papers, audit reports, findings, and management reports. Follow up on previous audit findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Conduct site/project audits to verify financial and operational records against actual project activities. Review cash flow, bank reconciliations, receivables, payables, advances, and provisions. Assist management with risk assessment and process improvement. Maintain proper audit documentation and confidentiality of financial and company information. Present significant audit findings and recommendations to Finance Manager, CFO, senior management, or management committee. Support year-end audit, statutory audit, tax/VAT audit, and other regulatory reviews when required.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CIA, or equivalent is preferred. 5–8+ years of audit/accounting experience, preferably in construction or contracting companies. Strong knowledge of internal audit, external audit, financial controls, project accounting, and risk management. Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/accounting systems. UAE construction/contracting experience is an advantage. Employment Type Full-time
