Senior Contracts Engineer

• Present and explain terms and conditions of contracts to managers and projects’ stakeholders and concerned internal departments (Technical, Cost and Planning, etc.) to prepare the requirements needed at the initiation of the project in the form needed. • Review entitlement, follow-up and monitor variation orders and coordinate with the relevant departments for quotation, price breakdown or any other necessary activities. • Review entitlement, follow-up and monitor notices of claim of all delay events to be issued according to the contract time bars to preserve the company’s rights for extension of time and cost compensation, in addition to coordinating with the site team and other departments. • Identify areas of possible risks and opportunities related to the application of the contract clauses in both the pre and post award phases as applicable. • Ensure the project’s rates of progress and cost updates are in conformance with the contract conditions, the submitted progress reports are timely reporting any concerns causing delays, losses and/or other obstructions. • Review and assist claims’ preparation and submittal when the project deviated from the original time schedule and budget. • Prepare regular studies and internal reports regarding the Project’s team compliance with the contract procedures to ensure the project’s smooth and feasible fulfillment. • Coordinate the day-to-day tasks between the projects’ contracts engineers to ensure avoidance of reworks and optimized utilization of resources. • Make necessary amendments to the contracts mutually with the client. • Stay up to date with legislative changes and assess their impacts on ongoing and future projects. • Negotiate subcontracts/services agreements, and draft special conditions (if required) while ensuring compliance with back-to-back conditions. • Present monthly project status report to the management that entails progress, variation, and claims log for review\comparison with the previous months for any needed precautions or actions. • Manage subcontracts/services agreements through assessing claims and ensuring abidance by contract conditions agreed upon in a timely manner. • Handling all the required contractual procedures/forms at Project’s Close-out, such as TOC issuance, Retention release, Performance Security release, and discharge agreements. • Review the terms and conditions of the regularly shared tender documents for detailed assessment of risks and preparation of contracts’ qualifications in connection with tendering procedures and deadlines. • Involve in pre-award negotiation rounds for addressing any required modifications or amendments as agreed with the clients before contract signature. • Study and prepare the required pre-bid agreements for the major scopes/stakeholders throughout the tendering& Pre-award stages with all necessary updates and negotiations. Job Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in engineering. • 5+ years of experience in construction and preferably in contract administration related field. • Knowledge of standard forms of contracts conditions and provisions like FIDIC suite of construction contracts with all their editions.
