Senior Estimator - Valves Products

Lead the accurate and timely preparation of detailed cost estimates for complex valve and drilling product projects, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all direct and indirect costs. Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and technical documents to identify scope, material requirements, and labor needs for high-value bids. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms for materials and services. Collaborate closely with engineering, sales, and project management teams to understand project intricacies and provide cost-effective solutions. Prepare accurate technical & commercial estimates for API Certified equipment Develop costing for materials, machining, fabrication, assembly, testing, inspection, subcontracting and logistics. Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Production and QA/QC for pricing and delivery. Prepare selling prices, margins, risks, clarifications and commercial submissions. Support Sales/Management during negotiations and bid reviews. Review RFQs, ITBs, drawings, BOMs, datasheets and customer specifications. Develop detailed estimates covering raw materials, forgings, castings, machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, NDE/NDT, heat treatment, coating, testing, inspection, certification, packing and logistics. Develop accurate manufacturing-hour and machine-hour estimates based on routing, CNC operations, material grade, size and complexity. Prepare detailed API 6D ball valve costing, including body/closure configuration, trim, seats, seals, actuation and testing. Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Production/Planning and Quality to validate technical scope, pricing and delivery. Identify API, Saudi Aramco, inspection, testing, certification and customer-specific requirements affecting cost. Prepare cost breakdowns, recommended selling prices, gross margins and minimum negotiation prices. Identify technical, commercial, supply-chain and delivery risks and include appropriate contingencies. Prepare technical/commercial clarifications, exclusions and deviations. Support Sales and Management during bid clarification and commercial negotiations. Maintain historical cost databases, supplier pricing, manufacturing norms and estimating benchmarks. Conduct post-order and post-delivery reviews comparing estimated versus actual costs. Analyze won/lost bids and cost variances to continuously improve quotation accuracy and profitability.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification. 8+ years of hands-on estimating experience in an oil & gas equipment manufacturing environment preferred. Direct experience estimating API-certified products within a manufacturing environment. Strong hands-on API 6D ball valve costing and estimation experience is essential. Experience with API 6A, API 7-1, API 16A and/or API 16C is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of forgings, castings, material grades, CNC machining, welding/fabrication, NDE/NDT, heat treatment, coatings and pressure/gas testing. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, datasheets and material specifications. Working familiarity with API Q1 and applicable API product specifications. Familiarity with Saudi Aramco specifications, vendor requirements and inspection requirements is strongly preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and practical experience with ERP/MRP-based costing systems. Strong analytical, commercial and communication skills with excellent written and spoken English. ⚠️ Important: General construction/EPC estimating experience without hands-on API manufacturing costing experience will not be sufficient.
