Static & Thermal Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Static & Thermal Design Engineer with strong expertise in the design, analysis, detailing, and costing of pressure vessels, atmospheric storage tanks, thermal energy storage systems, silos, heat exchangers, and skid-mounted process equipment. The candidate shall possess hands-on experience in mechanical and thermal design software including PV Elite, HTRI, ASPEN, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling platforms. The role requires the ability to independently perform design calculations, prepare fabrication drawings, generate BOQ/cost estimates, and coordinate with fabrication, procurement, and project teams. Key Responsibilities Mechanical & Static Design and detailed engineering of: Pressure Vessels Heat Exchangers Atmospheric Storage Tanks Thermal Energy Storage (TES) Tanks Silos and Process Vessels Buffer Tanks and Calorifiers Degassing Units and Skid Packages Compressed Air Cryogenic Package LPG and Fuel System Perform mechanical calculations in accordance with: ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & 2 API 650 / API 620 TEMA ANSI / ASTM standards Local and international codes Prepare: Design calculations Mechanical datasheets General Arrangement Drawings (GA) Fabrication drawings Nozzle orientation drawings Bill of Materials (BOM) Material Take-Off (MTO) Perform: Shell thickness calculations Nozzle reinforcement calculations Wind and seismic analysis Saddle/support design Lifting and transportation analysis Thermal Design Responsibilities Perform thermal calculations and thermal sizing for: Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers Plate Heat Exchangers TES Systems Chilled Water Systems Hot Water Systems Glycol Cooling Systems Use software including: HTRI ASPEN HYSYS / ASPEN Plus PV Elite Compress / equivalent software Validate: Heat transfer performance Pressure drop calculations Flow velocity analysis Thermal efficiency Energy balance calculations Coordinate thermal design with process and mechanical requirements. Drafting & 3D Engineering Generate detailed engineering drawings using: AutoCAD SolidWorks / Inventor / equivalent 3D software Develop: 3D skid layouts Piping arrangements Structural interface layouts Equipment assembly drawings Production/fabrication drawings Coordinate with fabrication team for manufacturability and optimization. Estimation & BOQ Preparation Prepare: BOQ (Bill of Quantities) Cost estimation Material costing Weight calculations Tender technical submissions Coordinate with procurement for: Material specifications Vendor data review Technical bid evaluations Support commercial and sales teams during tendering stage. Required Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of: Pressure vessel codes and standards Thermal system engineering Static equipment design Fabrication processes Welding standards and material selection Ability to independently execute complete design packages. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent knowledge of engineering documentation and QA/QC requirements. Good communication and coordination skills. Software Requirements

Desired Candidate Profile

Mandatory proficiency in: PV Elite HTRI ASPEN HYSYS / ASPEN Plus AutoCAD MS Excel 3D Modeling Software (SolidWorks / Inventor / equivalent) Preferred: ANSYS Compress Tekla / Plant 3D Revit CFD or FEA software experience Educational Qualification Bachelor’s Degree in: Mechanical Engineering Thermal Engineering Process Engineering from a recognized university. Experience Requirements Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in: Pressure vessel design Thermal equipment design Static equipment engineering Industrial process equipment manufacturing Experience in HVAC, district cooling, oil & gas, energy, or industrial manufacturing sectors will be an added advantage. Preferred Candidate Profile Ability to manage projects independently. Experience in manufacturing/fabrication environment preferred. Knowledge of international design codes and client specifications.
