Assistant Manager – Business Finance (Omni-Channel)

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities We are seeking a highly analytical Assistant Manager – Business Finance to support financial planning, performance management, and decision support across Aster’s omni-channel ecosystem—including Retail Pharmacy (standalone stores), E-commerce, Aster Opticals, and Omni channel operations. This role will act as a finance business partner, enabling profitability, cost optimization, and data-driven decision-making across multiple revenue streams and business formats. Desired Candidate Profile Omni-Channel & Multi-Business Finance Drive financial performance tracking across: Retail Pharmacy (store operations) E-commerce & digital platforms Aster Opticals Internal franchisee business Analyze channel-wise and format-wise profitability, margins, and cost structures Monitor KPIs such as: Sales per store / per channel Conversion rates (online vs store) Basket size, footfall vs traffic Fulfilment & last-mile delivery costs Returns, discounts, and shrinkage Support business in optimizing pricing, promotions, and product mix Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning cycles Perform variance analysis (Actual vs Budget vs Forecast) with actionable insights Develop financial models for new initiatives (store expansion, online growth, franchise performance) Partner with leadership on scenario planning (e.g., online vs offline growth, margin improvement) Budgeting & Forecasting Own and consolidate budgets across multiple business units & channels Track and monitor spend across: Store operations Marketing (digital + offline) Logistics & delivery Franchisee costs/revenue share Identify risks in discounting strategies, delivery costs, and inventory holding Financial Reporting & Book Closing Support monthly book closure ensuring accuracy and timelines Prepare detailed P&L analysis by channel, format, and category Work with accounting teams on: Revenue recognition across channels Marketplace commissions & franchisee settlements Inventory and COGS reconciliation Analyze key drivers impacting margins and profitability Should have completed at least 2 budgeting cycles for a complex organization. Data Analytics & MIS Reporting Build and manage Power BI dashboards for: Channel performance Store vs online comparisons Optical & franchise performance Use Power Query & Excel to automate data extraction and reporting from: POS systems Microsoft D365 E-commerce platforms Deliver actionable business insights through weekly/monthly MIS reviews Systems & Digital Enablement Extensively work on Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) for financial data and reporting Drive automation and standardization of reports across business units Support integration of offline (stores) + online (digital platforms) data into unified reporting Participate in digital transformation initiatives in finance and analytics Key Skills & Competencies Strong business finance acumen in retail/healthcare omni-channel environment Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, dashboards, automation) Hands-on experience in: Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) Power Query (data transformation & automation) Power BI (dashboarding & visualization) Strong understanding of: Multi-channel revenue & margin structures Retail & e-commerce KPIs Budgeting, forecasting, and book closure Ability to convert complex data into clear, actionable insights Excellent stakeholder management skills across business and operations teams Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting / Commerce CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) – preferred 3–8 years of experience in Business Finance / FP&A / Commercial Finance Employment Type Full Time Company Industry Retail Department / Functional Area FinanceTreasury Keywords Executive Reporting & CSuite Briefings Financial Planning & Analysis FP&A Budgeting & Forecasting Variance Analysis P&L Analysis Financial Reporting Business Performance Management Daily Sales Reporting DSR Ownership Commercial F Get real-time job updates only on our App
