INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN – FRP/GRP MANUFACTURING

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Perform installation, inspection, testing, calibration and maintenance of industrial instrumentation and control equipment. Troubleshoot and repair sensors, transmitters, switches, gauges, control valves and other field instruments. Carry out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance to minimize production downtime. Monitor the performance and accuracy of instrumentation supporting FRP/GRP manufacturing processes and production equipment. Diagnose instrumentation faults and identify the root cause of equipment/process failures. Support production and maintenance teams during machine breakdowns, equipment start-up, shutdown and commissioning activities. Carry out periodic calibration of instruments and maintain accurate calibration records and maintenance history. Read and interpret P&IDs, instrumentation drawings, wiring diagrams and equipment manuals. Inspect instrument loops, connections and associated control equipment and rectify faults where required. Coordinate with Production, Electrical, Mechanical, QA/QC and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth plant operation. Assist in maintaining critical instrumentation spare parts and identify requirements for replacement components. Ensure all maintenance activities are performed according to SOPs, safety procedures and quality requirements. Maintain daily reports covering breakdowns, preventive maintenance, calibration and corrective actions. Desired Candidate Profile Diploma / ITI / Technical qualification in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical & Instrumentation or related field. Minimum 3 years of relevant industrial instrumentation experience. Experience in a manufacturing/production plant is strongly preferred. FRP/GRP, fiberglass, composite or plastic manufacturing experience will be a major advantage. Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a factory/industrial environment. Good communication and coordination skills.
