Materials Engineer
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities We are seeking a skilled and experienced Materials Engineer to join our team. The Materials Engineer will be responsible for material compliance, quality control, laboratory coordination, testing verification, and material approval processes for infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, safety protocols, and project specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in construction materials, testing standards, specifications, and QA/QC documentation. Responsibilities: Review material submittals, test reports, mix designs, product datasheets, method statements, ITPs, quality records, and non-conformance reports. Verify compliance of construction materials including asphalt, concrete, aggregates, soil, rebar, pipes, waterproofing, coatings, and backfill materials. Coordinate with laboratories, contractors, QA/QC teams, site supervision teams, and client representatives for testing and approval processes. Monitor material sampling, testing frequency, field testing, laboratory testing, and acceptance criteria in accordance with project specifications. Review material delivery records, certificates, inspection requests, and traceability documentation. Identify material quality issues, support corrective actions, and provide recommendations for acceptance or rejection of materials. Prepare material review comments, quality reports, testing summaries, and technical recommendations. Support continuous improvement of material quality control procedures and construction best practices. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field. Proven work experience of at least 7 to 10 years in materials testing, quality control, laboratory coordination, and infrastructure construction projects. In-depth knowledge of construction materials, asphalt, concrete, aggregates, soil, rebar, pipes, coatings, waterproofing, and backfill materials. Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, BS/EN, Saudi standards, project specifications, and laboratory testing requirements. Proficiency in reviewing material submittals, test reports, mix designs, ITPs, NCRs, and quality documentation. Strong analytical, inspection, documentation, reporting, and problem-solving skills. Materials engineering and quality control experience, preferably fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
