Senior Technician - Planning

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities ▪ Assumes overall responsibility for the production planning process within the Recycling Cast House to: o Maximize production output. o Optimize the use of available scrap to reduce costs while maintaining the highest product quality. o Ensure production is carried out safely, efficiently, and in an environmentally responsible manner. o Ensure the continuous availability of the correct scrap, alloys, prime metal, and consumables. o Coordinate with the Maintenance team to optimize preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, minimizing breakdowns and improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). ▪ Processes work orders through to completion by determining priorities, scope of work, start and completion dates, manpower requirements, materials, and any special requirements. ▪ Initiates and prepares store authorization forms, store amendments, purchase enquiries/requisitions, and computer data entry forms, while utilizing spare parts manuals to accurately complete related activities. ▪ Reviews preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and instructions and modifies them as requested by Energy Department management. ▪ Issues preventive maintenance schedules to the relevant Energy Supervisor in a timely and accurate manner. ▪ Provides PM conformance charts for each AP/month. ▪ Reviews and updates spare parts descriptions and inventory levels within the SAP system. ▪ Issues work orders and work order backlog reports as required. ▪ Assists in maintaining and updating Material Master and Equipment Master data within the SAP system. ▪ Assists in the preparation and generation of Energy Department reports. ▪ Complies with Company policies, procedures, and standards related to Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems. Desired Candidate Profile Minimum Qualifications: ▪ Completion of 50% of an HNC program, a recognized Diploma, or an equivalent qualification. Minimum Experience: ▪ 5 years of relevant plant experience. ▪ 2 years of experience at PG8 level. Skills: ▪ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably SAP. ▪ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
